Hi All. I will only be on the call for the first half hour so instead of
taking up time and messing with the agenda, here are a couple of things
related to the Silent Auction.

  • The survey for volunteers that Julie mentioned MUST include
    volunteers
    for the Silent Auction-
pre auction set up, shifts during the auction
to oversee it, talk items up and keep things neat and organized, and post
auction- for processing payments and packing up. Rachelle and I will come
up with a schedule  of times and tasks needed and will send to  you all,
    the board and Casey.
  • Someone needs to be a* point person for the state baskets.* While we
share the space, and organize the placement of baskets, usually someone
else is sending out reminders and instructions for getting the baskets
together, where to bring them and when. Once someone is identified for this
task, I can work with them on what to send out and when.
  • Silent Auction Items: This is the time to start getting items for
the auction and we need help! We are especially looking for Vermont items
for the auction. Usually a couple of people on the conference committee
from the state it is being held offers to get local items. Some ideas:
Champlain Chocolates, April Cornell, Turtle Fur, Darn Tough socks, Burton,
Danforth Pewter, Simon Pearce. small local artisan businesses. I can do a
few but will need help with this. Does anyone on the committee from Vermont
have friends or family in local businesses? Airbnb? Inns, Restaurants?
Outfitters for trips and/or gear? Local delicacies, beer, wine , cider,
whisky, etc. Please reach out to them and keep me posted.
  • It is also fine to bring any specialty items from other states if you
    have connections to business owners.
  • Knowing the* VALUE* of items is really important. Once you have
items, please let me know the description and value.
    • Parameters for donations*: No used jewelry, clothing  or appliances
please. Regifting new items if relevant is fine. Check with me if you are
not sure. Gift cards are OK but we usually use them for the on-line auction
that you will hear about soon.

Thanks so much for your assistance with this!

Best,
Linda
