New England Program Directors & Staff,
The Plattsburgh State University and Vermont State University - Lyndon Upward Bound programs are pleased to announce the dates of the 2023 New England Student Leadership Conference. This year’s conference will be held at the Hulbert Outdoor Center from September 22nd – September 24th. Space is limited and will be reserved on a first come-first serve basis. We hope that you and your students will be a part of this exciting opportunity. Staff from these programs and the Hulbert Outdoor Center in Fairlee, Vermont are working together to provide another great opportunity for you and your students. Students and staff will share, learn and implement diverse leadership styles and skills, not to mention develop many new and lasting friendships.
We are seeking your support and commitment of students and staff to make this event possible. We are asking for your commitment of up to 6 prospective student leaders and one staff person per program. In August, if space is available, we will ask if you would like to send more students. A staff member must accompany students and a 6:1 student to staff ratio is required. The conference will cost approximately $250 dollars per student participant and $175 per staff participant and will include meals and lodging for the three days and two nights of the conference.
If you are interested in sending students, we would like to ask that you confirm by email to Rick Williams (Richard.Williams@VermontState.edumailto:Richard.Williams@VermontState.edu) as soon as possible. Please indicate which program you are from, how many students and how many staff will be attending. Remember: spaces are limited and requests will be reviewed on a first-come first-serve basis. After we have reached 60 participants, we will notify you and send a registration form to your program in August. If you have any questions or need further information, please feel free to contact me by phone (802-626-5000) or by email. We are looking forward to hearing from you.
