*Hello NEOA Board Members! Welcome to all of the new folks. So happy to
have you on board! *
This is the first "official request" for newsletter content! For those new
to the board, we put these out electronically and quarterly and look to the
board and members for ideas and content. Our goal is to inspire, inform and
provide opportunities for strengthening connections and learnings for the
NEOA community while providing relevant info about the work we all do and
local/NE events. We LOVE getting small "News Bites" that inform membership
of success stories, interesting facts and accomplishments. These can be 2-3
sentences! We also love to post photos and "Save the Date" blurbs for
conferences and other events that may be of interest.
Specifically, here is what we are looking for this fall:
*Fall 2023 Newsletter Outline *
· *Summer Highlights/accomplishments (new programming, program
firsts, special events, speakers, etc.) *
· Key takeaways from the COE conference
· Remember to:
o Check out zoom tables
o Pay membership dues
o Register for PD opportunities and state conferences
· Introducing new NEOA Staff from around the region- with photos
· Introducing the new COE President- get a statement from Kim
· Looking for a good few people: Newsletter Committee, other? Board
Members- tell us what you need.
· Student/Staff accomplishments
· Alum Corner
· DEI committee news (who is on the committee, plans, etc.)
Of course, if you have something to share that is not on the list, we will
take it!
BASIC INFO:

How to submit: Simply send me, Linda Shiller-Cormany an email with
the accompanying photos/attachments. If you know you have something to
submit but don't have it completely together yet, let me know and I will
hold the space. - *WHEN to SUBMIT: between NOW and OCTOBER 2nd. *

PS: I am desperately seeking a co-chair for the Newsletter Committee since
our esteemed President-Elect, Yara, will be occupied with 2 other important
NEOA roles this year! Please spread the word! Looking for someone with
basic layout and some design skills. And thank-you Yara for your fabulous
work on the newsletter last year! 👏

We have a couple new hires in Outreach, and we should have a report on our June VEOP gathering. I will ask Soren to send you something about the latter. I will try to remember to get details to you about staff. I am at the coe conference. If I forget please remind me.
