Hello NEOA,
Happy National First Generation Day! This year marks the sixth year of
*officially *celebrating First Generation College Bound students, but we
all know we have been celebrating them for many decades. This email serves
a few different purposes:

1. THANK YOU. Thank you for your dedication to first generation college
   students. Thank you for supporting them on their journeys and honoring
   their paths forward to reaching their college and career goals. Thank you
   for sacrificing much of your own time to be present for your students and
   doing what you can to ensure their success. (Personal shout out to Rick
   Williams, Bob McCabe, Marti Kingsley and Randy Schroeder for being my TRIO
   mentors when I was in school).
2. I SEE you TRIO/GEAR UP/EOP Professionals who are alumni of these
   programs. You belong here and I'm so thankful you are carrying on the good
   work that helped us get to where we are today.
3. As you celebrate today (or another day this week) on your campuses,
   would you please take photos and send those and a small blurb of your event
   to either myself or NEOA Public Relations chair, Tony Staffiere (
   tony.staffiere@thomas.edu)? The world will only know all the awesome things
   our programs and students do if we brag about it :))
4. If sharing information about your event on social platforms, tag
   @neoa23_,  @COEtalk, and @FirstgenCenter and use the #CelebrateFirstGen!
