It's that time of year again to send you some proposed updates to the NEOA Bylaws. What are bylaws? Bylaws are the rules and regulations that organizations such as NEOA utilize for internal management or guidance. They provide a framework for an organization to operate. Periodically, the association discovers a need to review these rules to see if they are still relevant and current with the times. If changes are deemed necessary, they then must be approved by the members of the association to make it official. I've attached a copy of the proposed changes to the NEOA Bylaws concerning the professional membership category. In the spirit of inclusivity, the board felt it necessary to update the language to include persons who may have retired from full-time service, but still wish to remain active in the organization. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me at any time. The amendments will be voted on for approval at the *NEOA Annual Business Meeting, which will occur at the 2025 NEOA Conference in Warwick, RI, April 9-11*.
