Hello NEOA board,
Thank you for your patience while you wait for me to send the agenda-it is
attached to this email (and in the box drive).
*Some important things to note regarding location/meals: *

  1. We are meeting at the TRIO day hotel: Sheraton Springfield Monarch Place
Hotel. Thursday's meeting is scheduled to start at 1:30.
2.Coffee, tea and water will be provided on Thursday and the hotel is
giving us complimentary cookies & brownies.
  2. Dinner is also at the hotel. This was due in part to many restaurants
being booked and if I'm being honest, it was the easiest route for this
meeting. The hotel is aware of dietary restrictions and there will be a
    cash bar.
  3. Breakfast is on Friday from 8-9am and will be similar to our past
breakfasts'-lunch on Friday is on your own.

Some things to prepare/do for the meetings:

  1. Please complete and upload your board report into the January 2024
meeting folder. If you have issues with this contact myself or Casey.
  2. In the January folder is a folder for NEOA Annual Awards. Please upload
any nominations you have into that folder by Thursday morning. There is one
in there already for Claiborne Pell. We will be discussing and deciding on
    these on Thurs.
  3. In preparation for our continuing discussion of DEI, please review the
notes collected at the November meeting (thank you Linda for putting these
together). Those are attached and in the January 2024 folder.
  4. We will also be continuing our conversation about membership-at our last
meeting we were unclear about the different types (specifically what is a
retiree, and what is honorary). Please come prepared with your thoughts.
  5. Committee collaborations: If time allows, I would like each committee to
leave this meeting with a plan to connect with one other committee before
our April meeting. I have some thoughts about this, but please come with
    your ideas for your committee.
  6. There will be a time to discuss policy seminar for those planning to
    attend.

It's a big agenda and lots to do. We will do what we can and I appreciate
each one of you for participating in any way you can. I know we all have a
lot on our plate and just know I'm grateful for the work you each
contribute.

I will be at the hotel Wed. night with my family. Please text or call me if
you need anything as you arrive on Thurs.
Best,
Lindsay

Hi Lindsay,

The idea for an NEOA Exec Board visit in March was widely thought to be a good idea with the CCRI Trio directors I met with! I'm excited to help you with that in any way I can. I wanted to check in with you to make sure it's okay to include that in my board report so there aren't any surprises. If there's a way you would prefer to approach that topic, please let me know.

Sincerely,

April Donahue
